When Lisa Shannon didn't make the cut to join the second ensemble of CBS' juggernaut "Survivor," she probably thought her reality television career was over. Little did she know that her losing audition tape would ultimately help her land her own reality show.

The 25-year-old advertising copywriter may not have been good enough to outplay, outwit and outlast, but she's the centerpiece of CBS' new "Cupid," executive produced by Simon Cowell. According to the Daily News, casting directors remembered Shannon from her "Survivor" try and thought she'd be perfect for "Cupid."

On the show, which premieres on Wednesday (July 9) on CBS, Shannon and her two best friends (with the help of voters at home) narrow a field of would-be suitors down to a perfect husband. If Shannon and her groom stay married for a year, they'll receive a million dollars.

"I think we're doing a service to women," Shannon says. "This show will finally expose what women have to go through."
